Grade 3 built by Dodzy and the RMTBC, opened late October 2008.
This runs from Red Tank Road with the entrance on the left hand side not far down from Bunny Jugs (and Be Rude Not 2) and exits back onto Red Tank just up from the Tank.
It's fast and flowing with some challenging little pinch climbs into tight switchbacks and a great sequence of berms in a clearing about halfway through.
Good to get your heart rate and skill level up! Like most trails, this will be one that really rewards riding it a lot - as you get to know it, it just gets faster and better.
Take care at the exits(s) - all four options are neat, steep, drop ins that take you (very quickly) onto Red Tank.
Try riding this and then heading back up Red Tank to do BRN2. You'll realize, climbing RT Road, how much height you lose on Dragon's Tail and the new and old(er) trails make a great combo platter.
RIDERS COMMENTS:
Best trail in the forest fullstop. not to be missed.

After years of riding the tracks, even the good ones can become a little boring. B rude not 2 was good, but Dragons Tail is better. Very nice alternative, with a little bit of everything. Can be cruised over with the kids or keep you honest at warp speed. I like it!!

Best trail in the forest? Better than B Rude Not 2? I definitely wouldn't say that. I still prefer B Rude and there are many better trails, like Hot X for example. Still fast, flowing and fun though. Let's say 3 stars.

Mushroomspotting April 2010 - the compulsory Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria) is not to be missed - big and red! On the lower half of the trail you can find plenty small white-brown coloured mushrooms by the name of Inocybe sindonia. This little fella falls into the "LBM" category - Little brown mushrooms...
