Back in 2003 word started to filter out about a new trail between The Wash and Red Tank. Soon all was revealed - Be Rude Not To is still one of the best and really kicked off the flurry of trail building over the last 5 years.
New trails that followed like A Trail , Tickler and Chinese Menu take you to the BRNT trail head and the exit to Hot X Buns was designed to point you straight at the entrance (at high speed).
Rude has gradually grown into 3 sections and there's been some recent activity to link two of them.
After the little pinch climb, just into part 2 there is now a left hand fork that links to section 3 without going down to the skid site (you can still do this but if you do you miss some nice singletrack all the way to Red Tank and the entrance to Mad if you don't).
Quite a bit of fine-tuning going on as well - One of our favourite trails just keeps getting better. Nice work, Mark and Chris.
Rates as one of the best in the bush, Fast, flowing and one of those tracks that conjure "Daaaad can we do that again"
Normally handles wet weather well if there aren't to many riding it on their brakes.

Predominant Species
Larch (Larix decidua) 102 yrs old
Secondary Species
Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii)
Quite possibly the top track in the forest. Everyone rates it, and the trees are but a blur. The larch and Douglas fir allow for fast and flowing track.

Plenty of Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria) fruiting along the track - that's the pretty red mushroom. Generally growing from March/April until it get's to cold and wet. Kiddies, hungry riders and Jamie Oliver-wannabies, be aware, this fungus is poisonous... www.scionresearch.com

Like a lot of locals I must have ridden this over 100 times and it still feels as good as the 1st time.

Mushroomspotting March 2010 - lots of 'Slippery Jack' (Suillus luteus) fruiting in the first third of the track. This one is an edible species. Wait for a bit of rain and the red Fly Agaric (poisonous) is going to take over on this part of the trail!
In the bottom part of the trail you'll find a lot of Scleroderma bovista, a round puffball.
