GRADE: 5  LENGTH: 1.3KM

BUILT BY: Hand-built by Casey King of Spadeworx, commissioned by the Rotorua Mountain Bike Club.

GETTING THERE: From the Waipa MTB carpark side of the forest, climb to the top of Katore road, bypass the turn to Coridoor and Gunna Gotta and the trail entry is signposted from the high point. Or if you’re coming from the city side of the forest ride up Tokorangi Pa road and when you get to the point where it starts to descend, turn right up the very steep (but short) dirt track. This takes you to the gravel Katore road where you’ll turn left for a short climb to the K2 entrance.

TRAIL DESCRIPTION: This is a technically demanding trail through rugged clear-fell. Open sight lines allow a variety of high speed lines if you’re up to it, but the room for error is slim, so keep your speed within your personal limits. There are multiple lines in some areas, so is satisfying to ride multiple times, getting to know it a little better on each outing. The ‘rainbow’ bermed corners in the lower section are beautifully crafted to hold copious amounts of the speed you enter them with.

GETTING OUT: Follow the signs to exit onto Red Tank road. Turn right to get to the major junction at the intersection of Hot X Bun exit and B Rude Not 2 entrance.

Please ride within your limits, and be aware that trails can change with weather and heavy use from race events effecting their difficulty. Ride Rotorua will in no way be liable for any injury or damages arising from riding any of the trails listed on the Ride Rotorua website.
